The most marginalized and hurting people in Uganda are Orphans. Often abandoned or neglected, victims of HIV+ or trafficking—they are destitute fearing that there among the ranks of Africa’s countless orphans.
We stand alongside our orphans mostly the girls and help them regain confidence and find their inner strength to chase their dreams and build a bright future!
Often, Orphans like girls in third-world countries are forced into marriage or hard labor jobs before the age of 13. We advocate for the young-women in our community, and work to create local dialogue on behalf of the girls living in our village.
Through our life-skills training program and residential care—young women who we call “Havens” learn to learn new opportunity skills like tailoring making uniforms, cook different foods for retail, and receive business start-up training! With these new skills young-women are able to earn a salary which will help support them upon graduation from Haven Village.
